A fussy baby means no sleep – for Baby or Mom and Dad.
So what’s keeping your baby up?
Teething is a common up-all-night problem, which can leave your little one tired and irritable (Mom and Dad might feel the same!). So how do you encourage some much-needed sleep for all of you?
When?
The vast majority of babies sprout their first tooth when they’re between 4 and 7 months old. For most children, however, that first tooth will appear around six months. There are even rare cases when an infant is born with teeth! On the other end of the spectrum, teeth will start to appear by the time baby turns 1 year old.
Every baby experiences teething differently: Some have virtually no symptoms, while other babies experience teething pain for months.
Try these tips to help soothe a teething baby:
- Offer Camilia homeopathic medicine to effectively relieve pain, restlessness, irritability and diarrhea due to teething. Developed specifically for babies and toddlers aged 1 to 30 months, Camilia is available in convenient, sterile water-based unit-doses and contains no sugar, no dyes, and no preservatives.
- Offer food or a pacifier to chew.
- Place a cold spoon on the gums.
- Gently rub your baby’s gums with a damp washcloth, clean finger or soft baby toothbrush.
- Offer a teething ring, preferably made of firm rubber, since liquid-filled ones may break from the pressure of your baby’s chewing.
- Give your baby a warm bath (use water that feels warm but is not hot, about 37 degrees). A nice warm bath with a parent can help calm an upset baby.
And always remember that no matter what, you can never give too many cuddles!
